LEGAL ASSISTANT - TITLE 32

As a LEGAL ASSISTANT - TITLE 32, GS-0986-7, you will provide technical and procedural guidance and legal assistance to National Guard members based on an extensive knowledge of rules and procedures. Perform a variety of administrative/clerical support functions to insure the effective operation of the office and legal assistance program. Provide support to administer courts-martial, nonjudicial punishment, administrative boards and other actions. Perform research to identify factual and legal issues in order to provide relevant evidence to prepare summaries of precedent cases, interviews, testimony, depositions, and related case material for use by the attorney. Assist with the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, claims, and various other legal documents. Perform research and preparation of notes and memoranda regarding allegations and possible charges, maintenance of logs and case files, and filing of motions. Maintain transcript files and exhibits. Review regulations, drafts, and civil statutes. Implement instructions and directives. Provide assistance on preparation and submission of documents, to assure compliance with directives, or to advise on program procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience that involved working with office automation systems, software practices and procedures. Experience in working with various legal assistant support functions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have at least 12 months experience locating and compiling information from files. Experience processing legal documents by checking them for required information and accuracy, determining if any action is necessary, and annotating case files and status records to reflect receipt and due date for required action. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
