Reporting to the Land Grant Program Media and Communications Manager on the Kentucky State University Campus, the Media Assistant - Photographer will be responsible for assisting the Land Grant Program Media and Communications Department with efforts to promote the work of the Land Grant Program and Kentucky State University, primarily through photography.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Media Assistant - Photographer will support existing Land Grant Program Media and Communication efforts with an emphasis on photography.
The Land Grant Program Media and Communications' team's goals include:
1) highlighting and promoting the work of the Land Grant Program, Cooperative Extension Program, Cooperative Research Program, and College of Agriculture, Community, and the Sciences; 2) producing content such as narrative videos, AgKnowledge magazine, press releases, and photographs; and 3) offering technical support and planning for programming and events.
The Media and Communications Assistant - Photographer will address these goals through taking professional photos of Land Grant Program events, personnel, projects and stakeholders for documentation and marketing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

duties that are essential to performing the job with or without accommodation) Assists media and communications department with efforts to promote the work of the Land Grant Program and Kentucky State University, primarily through professional photos of Land Grant Program events, personnel, projects and stakeholders for documentation and marketing.
Photographs Land Grant Program events and research projects for documentation purposes.
Photographs for promotional materials such as social media posts and flyers.
Photographs portraits, products, and in-field subjects for annual AgKnowledge magazine.
Works with content editors, graphic designers, videographers, and other members of the media team to create multimedia projects.
Contributes to the Land Grant Program's image management.
Assists the video production department with projects.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Communications, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS:
None required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Experience with DSLR camera, studio and flash photography, captioning photos, and editing and basic retouching of photos.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to take initiative and be resourceful and punctual.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to adhere to deadlines.
Valid driver's license is required.
Experience with A/V appreciated.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is normally performed in either a typical interior/office work environment or in a farm-related setting.
Must be able to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, including heat or rain.
Ability to lift 15lbs required.
This position requires some night meetings, weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county meetings.
A valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required.
Mileage will be reimbursed at a rate established by the University.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
