Hiring Agency Education & Labor Cabinet Department of Workforce Development Location 500 Mero Street Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description The Education and Labor Cabinet's (ELC) mission is to educate, prepare and train Kentucky's current and future workforces.

We also help businesses and employers recruit, retain and accommodate employees with disabilities.
We are seeking a District Food Operations Evaluator to coordinate agency operational functions with assigned institutional food service and vendor staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Evaluate and monitor institutional food service operations of blind vendors.
Analyze practices and recommend solutions to improve performance to ensure successful, financially viable operations.
Work with vendors on staff hiring, retention, and training issues and recommend improvements as necessary.
Conduct inspections on condition of facilities for cleanliness, safety, properly functioning equipment, customer satisfaction and profit growth.
Analyze business practices and work to ensure compliance with established rules, regulations and building agreements.
Write site visit reports.
Conduct mock health inspections to prepare vendors and advise them of health department requirements.
Identify underlying causes of problems through discussions with vendor and review of financial data.
Resolve problems such as handling complaints, settling disputes and conflicts, and ensuring compliance with federal, state and Kentucky Business Enterprise (KBE) rules and regulations.
Mediate problems between vendors and property managers to help resolve issues and determine solutions.
Assist vendors with procuring multiple food service providers to ensure cost savings and product quality standards are met.
Assist vendors with revenue generating programs, promotions and marketing.
Assist vendors with equipment needs and address any new equipment, replacements or maintenance necessary.
Act as liaison between repair company and vendor, as needed.
Move and install equipment as necessary.
Organize, plan, arrange and assist with vendor changeovers including merchandise and equipment inventories.
Seek out and make recommendations for potential facility locations to division management.
Assist with development and revision of agency policies.
Interpret and enforce policies and procedures and state and federal program regulations for internal and external customers to ensure understanding and compliance.
Perform other duties as required.
POSITION REQUIRES FREQUENT STATE TRAVEL AND THE ABILITY TO LIFT AT LEAST 50 POUNDS.

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree with courses in food preparation, food management or a related area.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Four years of experience in the operation and management of institutional, military, or commercial food service operations.

Experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
