Castle & Key Distillery Castle & Key Distillery Frankfort, KY Frankfort, KY Full-time Full-time $45,000 - $55,000 a year $45,000 - $55,000 a year 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Under the leadership of the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will be responsible for continued development, maintenance, training, and compliance of Quality Systems for Castle & Key.
Coordinates with Logistics to inspect, test, and sort raw materials, including handling, storage, and disposition of non-conforming materials.
Provides support to the Bottling Team as needed during quality events, ensuring defect rates, sort and rework, and other related measures are captured.
Acts as a liaison between Production and Operations to ensure Production has adequate support to meet quality standards, schedule, and efficiency targets.
The Quality Technician is also responsible for maintaining and writing Quality documentation (work instructions, procedures, standards, inspection reports, etc.
) as part of the Quality Management System.
Has authority to appoint employees with the authority to perform and/or assist in product quality reviews.
Quality Technician Duties & Responsibilities Performs analysis on receiving, processing, and finished goods.
Ensure material lots meet QC functional test requirements and acceptance criteria.
Inspects goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as regulatory and certifying bodies.
Disposition of non-conforming vendor material.
Sort conforming and non-conforming materials when needed.
Re-inspect stock when necessary.
Issues, maintains and implements activities relating to corrective and/or preventative action.
Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities.
Perform internal and site audits as required.
Responsible for maintaining, identifying gaps, and writing Quality documentation (work instructions, procedures, standards, inspection reports, etc.
) as part of the Quality Management System.
Contributes and conducts customer/internal audits by representing the Quality department.
Records data and prepares basic charts, tables, dealing with collected quality data.
Aid in identifying and defining issues and improvement opportunities (equipment and process) based onperformance data.
Supports team members and takes initiative to maintain as well as progress the Castle & Key QualityManagement System.
Provide support to Quality, Sensory, and R&D Team as needed.
Education for Quality Technician Post Secondary Degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Biology, Technology Skills for Quality Technician Desired skills for quality technician include:
Google G Suite (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.
) Microsoft Office Good Documentation Practices - ability to keep proper records Qualifications for quality technician ? Act with the utmost integrity, professionalism and positive attitude ? Recognize problems that might affect the quality or integrity of the product and communicate problems ? Responsiveness to external and internal customer issues ? Strong knowledge of the QMS process, especially corrective action system demonstrated familiarity with theinternal audit process and ability to generate technical documents ? Strong knowledge of statistical analyses of process data to identify trends for specification management of rawmaterials, intermediates and finished goods ? Experience drafting reports and collecting data.
? Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
? Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
? Great collaboration skills with all position levels including management, colleagues, and operators to insurequality requirements are achieved and maintained during the production process ? 2 years QC experience in a manufacturing environment ? Comfortable with a variety of measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers ? Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time Job Type:
