Description Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) employees work to support and improve our public education system so that the nearly 650,000 students attending public schools will have a bright and successful future.

Key
Responsibilities:
Research and Data Analysis Implement and oversee Commissioner's research agenda that supports strategic planning, evidence-based decision making, and research-based solutions to improve K-12 public education across the Commonwealth.
Create and maintain a project plan to establish and monitor research priorities.
Proactively partner with senior leadership and department heads to facilitate the effective use of data and analysis.
Perform advanced statistical analysis using available tools (Excel, R, Stata, etc.
) to interpret results and identify trends.
Present study findings and recommendations to audiences in key decision-making positions in the agency.
Create enhanced data visualizations and dashboards in Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
Request and analyze data from various data systems (Infinite Campus, MUNIS, School Report Card, etc.
).
Collaborate with and provide support for external research partnerships.
Respond to and anticipate in ad-hoc research and data requests.
Oversee the development, administration, collection, analysis, and reporting of employee and stakeholder surveys used to identify and improve organizational effectiveness.
Collaborate with other team members.
Be well informed of state and national research impacting P-12 education.
Team Strategy and Management Support the development of the agency's strategic plan by assisting offices in determining key metrics in order to measure progress being made toward KDE's goals.
Develop, cultivate and manage relationships throughout the education community to ensure successful implementation of the agency's vision and strategic goals.
Attend cross-functional meetings as needed to keep informed of work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
