The director will oversee all aspects of the Association's participation in a long-term, second-chance employment initiative for justice-involved Kentuckians.
S/he should bring a broad, statewide perspective to this role to complement and strengthen KAM's state and federal missions.
As such, s/he should give early priority focus to outreach to relevant organizations across Kentucky to establish strong working relationships regarding workforce issues.
This position is based in Kentucky and will report to the president/CEO.
Key Responsibilities for the Director of Workforce Development include:
Conduct outreach to small, medium, and large Kentucky manufacturers regarding their workforce needs.
This will include collection of data from all such interactions and from relevant partner organizations on Kentucky workforce needs.
Recruit member and non-member companies to participate in the second-chance employment program asemployer partners committed to hiring initiative participants.
Manage and track all initiative-related expenditures on an ongoing basis for weekly and monthly reporting.
Collaborate with member and non-member companies, Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, and Jefferson Community & Technical College to identify specific professional certifications and other credentials needed by prospective employees to fill open positions.
Coordinate training of member and non-member companies in second-chance employment best practices, guidance, mentorship, and encouragement.
Coordinate the placement of program graduates among employer partners.
Organize hiring events among member and non-member companies to recruit employer partners.
Work closely with Goodwill and otherpartner organizations' staffs to ensure seamless case management and support of program participants and graduates.
Staff KAM's Workforce Council and serve as a primary resource for its chairperson and members.
The successful candidate will have the following:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an associate degree in a relevant field and commensurate experience.
A minimum of two years of experience in workforce development, a related field, or a combination thereof.
Superior organizational ability and a detail-oriented mindset.
Outstanding oral and written communications skills.
Experience working for or with manufacturing enterprises is a plus.
Experience developing and managing external partnerships and alliances.
Experience working with membership organizations.
Proficiency in Microsoft office systems and software.
Ability to travel throughout Kentucky regularly in a personal vehicle.
Compensation will be between $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with the candidate's experience.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
