By joining our Division of Motor Carriers, Tax and Financial Processing Branch as a Taxpayer Services Specialist II in Franklin County you will have the opportunity to provide direct technical assistance to taxpayers, to include case resolution, in a central office or a taxpayer service center in any one or all state taxes administered by the Department of Revenue or the Department of Vehicle Regulation.
Holders of the Taxpayer Services Specialist II position will complete tasks such as:
Assists taxpayers/customers via phone, e-mail, etc.
with questions concerning all aspects of their taxes and accounts.
Develops reports, participates in policy and procedural recommendations for the processing of motor carrier tax returns.
Works with vehicle enforcement and weigh stations to ensure that all monies due are collected on impounded vehicles.
Ensure the accurate and timely collections of all taxes and fees owed to the Commonwealth and/or other IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) jurisdictions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Holders of this job title will obtain:
Experience in accurate and complete tax returns.
Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Experience with customer service.

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Two years of professional experience in tax records examination, tax administration, tax investigation, or tax auditing.

Experience in tax records examination, tax administration, tax investigation, tax auditing, property appraisal, accounting, business administration, collections, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
