Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the direction and focus of the Bottling and Distillery Maintenance Team activities for 2nd and 3rd shift.
They organize workloads, provide technical support, and manage work quality for responsible areas.
Support the overall facility safety program through project management, maintenance, problem identification, and mechanic supervision.
Specifically, safety is engineered into every project and projects are carefully supervised in conjunction with the Safety Department.
Address issues identified by the Executive Safety Committee ASAP via maintenance work order system.
Review Safety work orders, ensure they are given the appropriate priority for completion and work assignment.
Ensure that Mechanics and Contractors are trained in and use PPE, adhere to confined space rules, etc.
Assist in development of a preventative/predictive maintenance program for all Operations processes.
Maintain the documentation system, MP2, for data collection during repairs and PM activities in order to monitor deterioration rates and identify critical failure points.
Assist in enforcing the Maintenance Shop 5S initiative within the maintenance team which is focused on keeping work areas and job sites orderly and clear of debris making them safer and more conducive to efficient work practices.
Lead the management of the Bottling and Distillery Maintenance effort with 2 - 5 skilled maintenance technicians within the facility.
Lead and provide assistance in daily reduction of downtime efforts by evaluating and providing technical assistance and testing of equipment.
Ensure adherence to applicable quality standards, manufacturing standards, and GMPs.
Lead the development and on-going updates of SOP's and processes related to MRO inventory and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Meets and exceeds customer expectations through supervision of Maintenance employees to deliver product on time within budget and to meet quality specifications.
Troubleshoots operating problems, evaluates the situation and coordinates resolution.
Provide leadership to Maintenance employees in a manner consistent with the culture of the company.
Ensures employees are treated fairly and with respect.
Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Participates in efforts to address issues identified through climate surveys and make the Company one of the industry's most desired places to be.
Assist in evaluating equipment capabilities and capital expenditure requirements.
Work with the Department Manager to implement new initiatives including infrastructure improvement and system expansion to support production growth.
Lead the management of the 2nd and 3rd shift Bottling and Distillery maintenance effort with up to 5 skilled maintenance technicians within the facility to ensure at least a 95% uptime through support of preventive/reactive maintenance, project management, systems control and general engineering.
Through personal example and direct management, create an environment that supports self-directed work teams and productive employee relations while maintaining compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Trains and supervises 2 - 5 skilled maintenance technicians that support the facilities maintenance on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Evaluates employee performance and skill level to determine skill improvement needs and develops improvement plans to address.
Creates and develops a personal development plan with Plant Engineer to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
Participate in the Crisis Management Project.
Become a subject matter expert on Maintenance related items with the CM Plan by understanding potential crises and the appropriate responses, ensuring team members are adequately trained, and leading the Maintenance team members in response and recovery efforts.
Assist in the development and ongoing updates of SOP's and processes related to MRO inventory and preventive maintenance scheduling.

3 years relevant experience (minimum) Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook) Strong analytical and technical skills Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience PREFERRED Strong planning and organizational skills Ability to communicate with all levels of an org Physical Requirements Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Ability to work overtime if necessary Ability to work 8 hour shift In-person job attendance Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
Strong communication skills Ability to read and write Ability to work near moving mechanical parts Ability to pay attention to detail Ability to pay attention to detail Noise level at work station is loud (metal can manufacturing, large earth moving equipment) Ability to work with the risk of electrical shock Salary range - $84,666 - $126,999 Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.
