This position is nonpartisan in nature and requires the ability towork with neutrality in a politically charged environment.
The Legislative Research Commission provides staff support to the Kentucky General Assembly.

The individual selected for this position must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention todetail, and be public service oriented with the ability to maintain a good rapport with LRC staff, stateemployees, and the general public.
The individual must have strong writing, communication, organization, andinterpersonal skills.
The individual must be able to work under stress, with the understanding that duringlegislative sessions and occasionally during the interim period, working significant amounts of overtime willbe required.
This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits including health and life insurance; retirement plan;and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
Compensatory time is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with priorapproval.
Job Duties:
Maintain ability and willingness to perform all duties of direct-report Analysts.
Demonstrate strong bill drafting skills.
Serve as first point of contact for committee-related work, information, inquiries, and requests and assigntasks to staff.
Understand, communicate, and enforce agency process, policies and procedures.
Attend required staff meetings.
Facilitate communication among the LRC Director's Office, legislators, leadership staff, outside parties, andcommittee staff.
Provide oversight, support, and feedback to committee staff so that they can effectively and efficiently dothe work assigned to them.
Communicate with statutory committee chairs, standing committee chairs, interim joint committee co-chairs,and task force chairs about agendas, arrange and coordinate meeting logistics, and review and be responsiblefor post-meeting memoranda, minutes, reports, and other communications.
Work with other LRC staff, including but not limited to the Deputy Director for Research and the DeputyDirector for Committee and Staff Coordination, on multiple matters including the production of LRCpublications.
Assist with LRC staff studies and task forces.
Manage and maintain staff by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
Lead staff by communicating job expectations and plans; by monitoring and appraising job results; and byproviding coaching, counseling, and disciplinary measures.
Assist Deputy Director for Committee and Staff Coordination with training matters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION:
Juris doctor; Ph.
D.
in public policy or field related to the committee's jurisdiction; master'sdegree in public policy or field related to the committee's jurisdiction; or bachelor's degree with relevantexperience.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Seven years in public policy, legislative analysis or management, legal analysis, or a relevant fieldSubstitute EDUCATION for

Education may be substituted for experience and experience may be substituted for education at the discretionof the Deputy Director and Director.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
