This position is nonpartisan and requires the ability to work with neutrality in a politically charged environment.
The Legislative Research Commission provides staff support to the Kentucky General Assembly.

This is a permanent, full-time position with benefits including health and life insurance; retirement plan; and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
Compensatory time is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with prior approval.
Job Duties:
Type basic (form) letters and other documents Assist staff and members without regard to political affiliation or philosophy.
Interact with constituents, legislators, lobbyists, and state agency personnel.
Assist in ordering and producing legislative citations, colonels, and admirals.
Schedule tours, photos, and visits from constituents.
Answer telephones and take accurate messages; relay to appropriate individual or office immediately via email.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Flexible and willing to locate to assigned areas, as needed.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict rules of confidentiality and nonpartisanship.
Ability to maintain composure and work in a professional manner when dealing with a large number of guests at one time under intense pressure.
Willingness to work long, unpredictable hours during legislative sessions.
Must be prompt and reliable.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or GED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year working in customer service, clerical, or other related field Substitute EDUCATION for

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
